20 X 20 OIL AND COLD WAX ON CRADLED PANEL
This painting was two weeks of experimentation with cold wax medium and dry pigments and of course more photographs and me... annoying the wood storks again.
Â
More here about my obsession with the gang of thug wood storks that hang out at my local pizza place and try to bully people out of their food. Luckily most people seem to know not to give it to them. But that doesn't slow the birds down... let me rephrase that... it doesn't stop them from trying, they couldn't move slower if they tried.
They move toward you slowly like a mob of giant bird zombies. It's just freaky. You can't help but laugh. They'll all but jump into your car. I'm drawn to the way they move, in this very delicate way. They're very charming actually, in a Boo Radley sort of way. They are funny characters. The way they look, I love everything about them. They're absolutely captivating.Â
I've fallen in love with them and I want to paint them all the time.
This painting is slotted for entry in a group show that opens next month, more details coming soon.
