This little painting is another in a series of portraits I've done for a local benefit show. More details coming soon!
I am really enjoying working with cold wax, especially with portraits. It is making it difficult to get a lot of the detail that I'm used to getting so even though I spend the same amount of time I just come away with a much more loose interpretation.
The more I work with it the more I like it. But it is tricky stuff. All of my students are wanting me to hurry up and get used to it so I can teach a class in it. Not there yet. Still learning myself!
UPDATE March 13:
Since this post was first published the art center where the show was scheduled has been closed and the show postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak. I will post updates as I have them.
