Since I was laid off on June 29th and I got over the “omg I’m a failure” thoughts (which took all night) I woke up the next day feeling several tons of stress missing from my shoulders. That .. felt .. GREAT! Then it all made sense to me. I was going to follow my dream and start my own business making money doing what I love best; blogging and customizing wordpress themes.

Ken was a huge help in getting the business paperwork going. Any day now I’ll have my official Tax ID # attached to my business name “Jenny Berry Innovations LLC”

My whole family has been cheering me on, telling me this is what I was meant to do. I have the fear of failure, just a little, but a lot less than when I went into work everyday and tried to play the politics game. As the weeks went by I started feeling better and better finding myself less sick than usual. As a modivator to get out of the house I signed up at the YMCA to do water aerobics.

Everything feels better now that I don’t have to answer to a boss anymore. I’m self disciplined enough to pull this off, and like I said previously, it’s something I love to do. I’ve been blogging since 1995 at my personal blog and used it to dive into understanding Wordpress. I don’t know it all but I was born to be creative and in my own time as a hobby I would make themes for other people. I never thought one could get paid doing something fun that they enjoy. I’m quickly finding out that this is what I was meant to do.

Here’s to success!

It’s going to take some time, but I really like the new engine of DukuWiki so much better the MediaWiki. There are a ton of plugins to go along with DukuWiki too.

Anyway, that’s what I’ve been up to. You won’t see much on my DukuWiki yet but give it time.

I love technology. What I love more then technology is the creative outlet the tools of technology allow me to have. When I take on a project, like my school wiki for instance, I can tweak and custom fit that piece of technology to suit whatever goal or solution I might be seeking at that time. The best aspect of these projects, is actually learning how things work. Once learned, the sky’s the limit and the creative juices keep flowing to the next project or learning experience I have the privilege of working on.

It’s just exciting stuff, and to do it for a job almost feels like cheating in a way. I mean, who’s supposed to love going to work everyday?

When I ponder my dream of working at Google, this is how I see myself there.

Since I updated my phone to firmware 1.1.1 missed my other applications. I knew I didn’t want to revert back to 1.0.2 and the whole process seemed a little painful to be honest. I found this one-click Jailbreak guide and it worked great on the first try. Just make sure you follow the step by step instructions and reboot your iPhone every time it asks. There is one time it asks you to reboot your iPhone twice in a row. DO IT!

One-click Jailbreak for 1.1.1 (Windows)

Oh ya. Enjoy and have fun!!!!

Well, I updated my phone today (partly on accident since I wasn’t paying much attention) to 1.1.1 .. and … when it came back up, it said “Please Activate iPhone”

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

Then it restarted again and told me it was activated. I was seriously scared for a moment. So my phone came back all nice and pretty and my third party applications were wiped out and the new wi-fi iTunes was sitting all pretty and purple on the 4th row.

The question is, so I jailbreak it again? Do I wait for Apple’s SDK? What 3rd party applications did I use a lot. Well ..

iLight – I live in the woods, it’s very very dark in my house at night. Before bed when I’m turning off all the nights I use my iPhone as a flashlight

NES – The new Nintendo Entertainment System emulator is really nice. They have sound working on it so I can pull out Mario Brothers or Zelda anytime I please. Or, I used to, before today.

Sudoku – Ya, it’s just a fun game.

What is your favorite 3rd party iPhone app?
