Spring is in the air! I woke up to my front yard rocking hard with brilliant colors. I had Springto take a picture before I quickly ran to the car so I wouldn’t be any later to work then I already was. I am looking forward to my Mother and Grandmother’s visit so they can see everything in it’s full color.

I was playing around with iMovie last night and for once I was disappointed in Mac software. I’ve used Movie Maker on Windows Vista once and was able to edit my Driving Home video. While I was playing with iMovie last night, being very impressed with how easy it was to crop, add sound and transitions I was looking for more effects. I didn’t find any. One effect in particular I was looking for was the ability to do slow motion on a clip. How can iMovie not have this without installing a 3rd party application? The other Apple solution to this is Final Cut Studio 2 with a hefty price tag of $1,299.00. I’m sure Final Cut Studio 2 is worth it, but for people like me who don’t have an extra $1,200 hanging loose in their pocket what is one to do? Anyone have a suggestion?

That’s right … Apple is the third most valuable according to Apple shares.

Of course, Microsoft and Google take the #1 and #2 spots (yay Google!).

This makes me smile for more reasons than one :)

An instructional video about how to replace your iPhone battery without paying the $100 to send it into Apple. Video is by Nate, creator of the iBrickr which I’ve talked about before.

Be careful if you plane to replace your iPhone battery yourself, because you just might bend or damage your case! I remember the first iPod I took apart. It was a 3rd generation iPod and I had to replace the battery in it, and ended up bending the case. It was one I got off eBay and the serial number was scratched out, so I’m sure it was stolen.

Anyway, case is sensitive, be careful!

Since I updated my phone to firmware 1.1.1 missed my other applications. I knew I didn’t want to revert back to 1.0.2 and the whole process seemed a little painful to be honest. I found this one-click Jailbreak guide and it worked great on the first try. Just make sure you follow the step by step instructions and reboot your iPhone every time it asks. There is one time it asks you to reboot your iPhone twice in a row. DO IT!

One-click Jailbreak for 1.1.1 (Windows)

Oh ya. Enjoy and have fun!!!!

This is what my iPhone looks like now.

Well, I updated my phone today (partly on accident since I wasn’t paying much attention) to 1.1.1 .. and … when it came back up, it said “Please Activate iPhone”

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

Then it restarted again and told me it was activated. I was seriously scared for a moment. So my phone came back all nice and pretty and my third party applications were wiped out and the new wi-fi iTunes was sitting all pretty and purple on the 4th row.

The question is, so I jailbreak it again? Do I wait for Apple’s SDK? What 3rd party applications did I use a lot. Well ..

  1. iLight - I live in the woods, it’s very very dark in my house at night. Before bed when I’m turning off all the nights I use my iPhone as a flashlight
  2. NES - The new Nintendo Entertainment System emulator is really nice. They have sound working on it so I can pull out Mario Brothers or Zelda anytime I please. Or, I used to, before today.
  3. Sudoku - Ya, it’s just a fun game.

What is your favorite 3rd party iPhone app?
